2020-21 Israel Brooks Foundation Scholarships cancelled due to COVID-19
The Israel Brooks Foundation has established a history of providing scholarships for graduating high school seniors and college undergraduates who desire to continue their education through higher learning. We believe college allows people to flourish and move closer to achieving their career goals and life aspirations. Investing in education also encourages the growth and economic success of our community. Getting a college education can be expensive. Unfortunately, however, fate has intervened to cancel our program for the upcoming academic year.
This is an unprecedented situation with significant impacts to learning, working, and basic daily activities. Given all the challenges we know our scholarship applicants are facing to manage their coursework and stay healthy, as well as the uncertainty we are facing in the Fall of 2020, our board members have decided to cancel the Israel Brooks Foundation Scholarship program for the 2020-21 academic year. We are praying that we will still be able to host the 13th Annual Israel Brooks Memorial Golf Tournament on October 12, 2020. It is essential to our program that we continue to have this fund-raising event in order to further our mission of giving scholarships to deserving young people.
Once it was determined that applicants would not be selected this year, the Israel Brooks Foundation Board Members decided to take this opportunity to analyze and evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the program. While the application period for 2020-21 will not be offered this year, future scholarship opportunities will be listed on this page in the Spring of 2021 for the 2021-22 academic year.
